I started out in 2007, building websites for small businesses around Southport and Liverpool. Back then, the big question was "do I actually need a website?" — which feels quaint now, but it was a genuine hurdle for a lot of business owners at the time.
Then social media happened. Suddenly it wasn't enough to have a website — you needed to be on Facebook, then Twitter, then Instagram, then LinkedIn. Most of my clients were terrified of it. So I started showing them how it worked, in plain English, without the tech jargon. That turned into Social Media Academy.
And now it's AI. Same story, different technology. Business owners hear "ChatGPT" and "Claude" and feel like they're either going to be left behind or drown in jargon. So I built AI Academy — same approach, same plain English, just a new set of tools to get your head around.
The technology changes. The mission doesn't: help small business owners feel confident with the tools that matter, without making them feel stupid for asking.

Full transparency: I have ADHD. It's been a genuine superpower in many ways — giving me the drive, creativity, and relentless energy to build multiple businesses from scratch — but it also comes with real challenges. The systems, routines, and tools I now teach are the exact frameworks that helped me work with my brain rather than against it.

When I'm not in Southport running workshops, you'll most likely find me somewhere in South East Asia — laptop open, coffee in hand, working from a rooftop in Bali or a café in Chiang Mai.
That's the whole point of building the systems I teach. I practice what I preach. AI and automation mean the business keeps running whether I'm in Suite G at The Arch or watching the rice terraces in Ubud.
AI Academy — The Current Chapter
AI Academy is where I spend most of my time these days — running workshops, 1:1 coaching, and helping business owners get confident with AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini. It's not a separate business from the old Social Media Academy days; it's the same mission with a new set of tools.
The truth is, I don't think AI replaces the need to understand marketing. It just makes the doing faster. So the training I offer covers both — the thinking and the tools.
The Honest Stuff
ADHD in business. Networking done right. The occasional very honest personal reflection. I write about the real stuff — the bits that don't fit neatly on a services page but probably matter more than most of what does.
